Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee is among the foremost institutes of national importance in higher technological education, engineering, basic and applied research. About the School

The Department of Management Studies was established in 1998 to impart high quality formal education in management science through a comprehensive on-campus MBA programme. Today, now Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee offers a fully online EMBA with the same rigor, faculty & learning objectives albeit modified to suit working professionals. Dr. Santosh Rangnekar

Professor, IIT Roorkee

Dr. Santosh Rangnekar is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He has over 35 years of experience in industry and academia across Raymond Limited, Shriram Group of Industries, The Hukamchand Mills Limited Indore, Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, and Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee.

Dr. Rajat Agrawal

Dr. Rajat Agrawal

Professor, IIT Roorkee

Dr. Rajat Agrawal is a Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He is the Associate Dean for Innovation and Incubation, IPR Chair Professor of DPIIT, Govt. of India at IIT Roorkee. Dr. Rajat was also a visiting fellow to Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark and was awarded ICCR Chair at Indonesia in the year 2016-17.

His areas of interest are production and operations management including supply chain management, manufacturing strategy, and world class manufacturing. He has guided 22 Ph.D thesis in the above areas and has one Indian Patent for improved design of handloom. He has completed 12 research/consultancy projects of national and International importance with three projects worth over INR 2.5 Cr in progress. Dr. Vinay Sharma

Professor, IIT Roorkee

Dr. Vinay Sharma is a Professor with the Department of Management Studies and a Joint Professor with Department of Design at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. He has 28 years of experience in diverse areas including marketing, product and brand management, innovation and design thinking to name a few.

He has been teaching marketing, strategy and allied subjects, at various prestigious institutions and has also contributed an Appendix on Rural Marketing in the 13th edition of Philip Kotler's Principles of Marketing. He has considerable experience working with organizations in the fields of media, information technology and social development.

Assistant Professor, IIT Roorkee

Dr. Amit Upadhyay is an Assistant Professor at IIT Roorkee, working in the areas of operations research, supply chain, and transportation planning. He has also worked as assistant professor in VGSOM, IIT Kharagpur and as visiting faculty at IIM Calcutta.

He has worked with companies like Indian Oil, P&G, GatewayRail for consultancy projects and training programmes and his optimization models are being used by the companies for operations planning and network design. Dr. Zillur Rahman is a Professor in the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee. He has teaching experience of over 25 years and industry experience for more than 3 years. His primary teaching and research interest lies in the area of marketing. He has guided more that 23 Ph.Ds, written more than 125 research papers, and presented his research at various platforms across the world.

Dr. Kalpak Kulkarni

Dr. Kalpak Kulkarni

Assistant Professor, IIT Roorkee

Dr. Kalpak Kulkarni is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Roorkee. He received his Ph.D in Marketing from Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay.

Dr. Kulkarni’s research focuses on consumer behaviour with emphasis on viral marketing, online advertising, digital marketing and social media. He conducts experiments and structural modeling research to analyze marketing phenomena, and develops frameworks built on consumer psychology to optimize marketing strategies. In a recent paper, he developed a sentiment-based method to estimate the sharing intentions of consumers for branded viral advertisements that can be used to classify viral ad sharers. He also has working papers investigating the role of branding elements in driving the content virality on social media platforms. Dr. Kulkarni’s research has been published in a range of top journals, including the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, and Journal of Consumer Marketing.

Dr. Kulkarni teaches Business Environment, Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, and Services Marketing to MBA as well as Executive MBA cohorts at DoMS, IIT Roorkee.

Professor, IIT Roorkee

Dr. Anil K. Sharma is a Professor at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee. He has been working at IIT Roorkee for more than 20 years and has more than 25 years of teaching experience. His area of interest is finance & accounting.

He has published more than 130 research papers and has guided 20 Ph.D scholars. He along with one of his Ph.D. scholars has been awarded the best paper award in an international conference in Thailand.
