AI ladder, a framework for deploying AI in your enterprise. Overview. The first question you're probably asking yourself is, why should I take this course? Here's the deal. Artificial intelligence is one of the greatest opportunities in our lifetimes. Thousands of companies, large and small are already leveraging the power of artificial intelligence to improve business in their enterprises. The question you should ask yourself is, do you understand artificial intelligence? Do you know enough about it to make smart decisions? Do you know how to leverage it? Well, one thing you need to get clear is that artificial intelligence is not magic. Success with AI involves a lot of planning and hard work, mainly because of the fact that it is such a complex topic. The other reason that involves such planning and hard work is because it has the potential for affecting pretty much everything that's done in a modern business. For these reasons, it's really important that you understand artificial intelligence, at least at a high level, so that you can get a handle on the concepts, on the techniques, and on the language that you're going to be exposed to when you go into this new world. In this course, you're going to learn about a simple concept that will help you understand and explain all this planning and work. This simple concept is what we call the AI ladder. The core premise of the AI ladder is that data is the fuel for AI. You're not going to have any artificial intelligence anywhere in your business unless you have good, clean, relevant, and validated data that you can use to feed all of the different artificial intelligence technologies in your enterprise. Providing that fuel for your artificial intelligence frameworks involves modernizing your information architecture. While you're doing that, why you started that? You can begin climbing the AI ladder, and starting off in the AI ladder begins with the process of collecting data sources, making sure that the data have been cleaned up, simplified, and are accessible by anyone who needs it. After you've made sure you can collect your data sources, you have to organize, you have to create a business ready analytics foundation that allows people to access the data you've collected. After the data have been organized, it's time to actually use it to begin analyzing, building and scaling AI solutions with built in trust, understanding, and transparency. Once you've gotten good at that, then you can actually infuse artificial intelligence into your business to make all of your business processes smarter, and to enable the folks in your business to make better decisions. Now this is just a quick overview of the AI ladder. We're actually going to go into a lot of detail on each one of these steps. But to suffice it to say right now, the AI ladder is a smart, easy way for you to understand the entire journey that your business needs to go through in order to leverage AI. Let's go into a little bit of detail, the main goals of this course. The main goals include the following: summarize the main technologies and themes in today's AI landscape. Explain the concept of the AI ladder and its relevance to business enterprises. Described the importance of information architecture to successful AI implementations, and then we're going to go through and define and elaborate each step of the AI ladder, including collect, organize, analyze, and infuse. The lessons in this course are the following. Lesson 1, is the introduction of the AI ladder and covers also the fundamentals of AI. In lesson 2, we will cover the issue of no AI, that is, no artificial intelligence without IA, information architecture. Lesson 3 is the first step in the ladder, collect data. Lesson 4 covers the second step, organized data. Lesson 5 covers the third step, analyze data. Lesson 6 covers the fourth step in the AI ladder, infuse AI throughout your enterprise. Then finally, we have an end review and evaluation. Each lesson consists of the following: an introductory video, various videos and readings to support the concepts, we also have a narrative story involving a fictional company called Amstel Health. We're going to walk through a high-level narrative story detailing some of the challenges that the people at Amstel Health have in implementing AI. Each lesson then wraps up with a check for understanding quiz.
